Casa de Sueño was designed from the beginning as a dream self-catering holiday villa on the Costa Blanca where both the able-bodied and disabled people alike could enjoy and appreciate a luxury self-catering holiday in quiet and glorious surroundings where all the family are welcome. Everyone can now enjoy the same superb location, facilities and climate. The original owner was a paraplegic and the current co-owner is a T1 level paraplegic of 35 years and knows that access is crucial to any successful holiday.

From the time you arrive at the villa, where your transport can be virtually driven right to the door to unload the luggage, you realise you are somewhere special. All the doors in the villa have the same extra width. The interior of the villa is very spacious and the large open plan design gives room for even the largest wheelchairs to turn easily. The large American-style kitchen is spacious and fully fitted where wheelchairs have enough space to turn.

The large master bedroom can accommodate even the largest wheelchair with ease and the king-size bed with its pressure-relieving foam mattress can be accessed with ease from either side. The bed also can be raised if required with 'elephant legs' (please specify height required when booking). The ceiling fans and lighting can be controlled using the remote control and most of the bedroom lighting can be operated from the bed. You can also access the private pool and terrace from this bedroom.

The master bedroom has a very large tiled en-suite bathroom consisting of large bath with grab handles on both sides. There is a shower chair provided to access the wheel-in shower or, if you prefer, you can use the padded fold down shower seat which has folding bars at either side. The toilet is raised and has folding bars on either side. The sink, mirrors and electric switches pose no problems for either able-bodied or the disabled. We recommend anyone in a wheelchair should be in this bedroom because of the space and bathroom facilities en-suite.

Bedroom 2 opens out onto the pool terrace.although we think this bedroom is unsuitable for wheelchairs because of the current layout. Bedroom 3 is large enough to accommodate most manual wheelchairs although there is limited space..

The excellent family bathroom is spacious enough for wheelchairs as a back up for the disabled en-suite. A wall bar and slip mats are provided to ease the entry and exit from the bath/shower. This bathroom is suitable for those who have some mobility problem. This bathroom is not suitable for more severely disabled people. By studying the photos provided on this page, you will realise that you can book with confidence at Casa de Sueño and be free of the normal worries that occur when you book your holidays. We have designed our website with great care and we believe what you see is what you get.

The villa itself sits on a large, flat, gated plot having lovely landscaped gardens, terraces and colourful shrubs and flowers. Virtually the whole garden is totally wheelchair accessible. A magnificent 10m by 5m private swimming pool is also there for your enjoyment and is cleaned and checked regularly for your safety. There is a hoist available to help with access into the pool. In January 2008 we upgraded the hoist to a new, easy to operate, water powered pool lift.

A monkey pole is provided at the villa and should you need to hire any other specialised equipment you can contact Eurocaremobility or Reliamobility. These companies both have a range of mobility equipment available for hire and can deliver to the villa.
